Kelli Martin is a talented and respected solicitor, business leader and social justice advocate. She has worked predominantly in family and criminal law after being admitted as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia in 2008. Kelli founded KLM Solicitors in 2015 with a vision for a contemporary, client-focused law firm. She is a former Board Director for the not-for-profit Red Rose Foundation and actively works to end domestic and family violence. Kelli and her team regularly undertake community legal work, including volunteer hours for community legal centres. In 2021 she received an Excellence Award in the Australasian Law Awards in the Law Firm Leader of the Year (<200 employees) category and took out Queensland Law Society’s Access to Justice (Private Practice) Award. Kelli was also a Queensland State Finalist in the Telstra Best of Business Awards, Accelerating Women category. She was also a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards (Managing Partner of the Year and Mentor of the Year categories) and a finalist in the WLAQ Award for the Leneen Forde AC Woman Lawyer of the Year. Outside of her enormously rewarding and busy work life, Kelli raises her two young daughters.
Jane specialises in criminal law and is an accredited Children’s and Adult Duty Lawyer in the Brisbane Magistrates Court. After joining KLM Solicitors in August 2017, Jane’s skills, passion and dedication were recognised with her promotion to Partner in September 2022. Alongside criminal justice, Jane is passionate about mental health care and child protection matters. She considers her work in these areas imperative as she can give voice to those often unheard in the justice system. Jane takes enormous pride in assisting her colleagues to develop and grow in their roles. In 2021, she was a Finalist for the Australasian Lawyer Rising Star Award. She was also a Finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards in the criminal category. Jane works across our Brisbane CBD, Aspley and Cleveland Offices.
Leanne Stafford specialises in all aspects of family law and domestic violence matters. Leanne has been exposed to legal environments both in Australia and abroad, allowing her to fine tune her people, professional, business and Court skills, having worked as a Duty Lawyer in various Queensland Courts. Leanne is committed to a client-focused approach and supporting her clients as they navigate a complex and often daunting legal system. While she enjoys the process of court, Leanne has an empathetic nature and finds great satisfaction in finding resolutions through mediation, where possible. Based in our Brisbane CBD office, Leanne will utilise her experience and work closely with our Partners to support the KLM Solicitors team.
Sabrina joined KLM Solicitors in 2022, having been admitted as a lawyer in 2019 and working in family law for nearly three years. During this time, she worked on a number of highly complex and sensitive cases, including domestic violence matters. Having moved into the legal industry after a career in advertising, Sabrina is passionate about combining her creativity and problem-solving skills to provide her clients with exceptional legal representation. Specialising in family law, her primary goal is to ensure her clients feel comfortable and at ease, while assisting them in navigating their way through challenging times. She is looking forward to mentoring junior staff and becoming involved in Community Legal Services on the Sunshine Coast. Sabrina is based at our Maroochydore office.
Determined, caring and goal oriented, Amahlia is committed to going above and beyond for her clients. Her ability to handle a wide variety of cases and her empathetic nature makes her the perfect fit for her role as a Family Law Solicitor. She is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of those most vulnerable in her community. She loves to volunteer at community legal service associations, providing legal services at no cost. Amahlia is based at KLM Solicitors’ Brisbane CBD Office.
Jackson Freeman is a member of the KLM Solicitors Criminal Law team. He was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2016 and as a Solicitor of the Queensland Supreme Court in 2020. Jackson brings experience in criminal law and as a Legal Aid Duty Lawyer. He has a keenness to learn and be part of a successful team. Jackson works closely with our team of clerks to achieve positive outcomes for KLM Solicitors’ clients. In his spare time, Jackson is drawn to the outdoors, be in it through sporting endeavours, camping or fishing. He also has a passion for music.
Katie is based at our Maroochydore Office, specialising in criminal law and child protection matters. She has a Bachelor of Laws and brings strong advocacy and negotiating skills to the KLM Solicitors team. Alongside criminal justice, Katie is passionate about mental health care and child protection matters. Katie strongly believes everyone deserves a fair go in the justice system and goes above and beyond to achieve the best outcome for her clients. She is looking forward to growing with the firm and one day hopes to become an accredited specialist.
Hannah Arandale joins the KLM Solicitors Family Law team and brings with her years of experience in the legal professional across many roles and practice areas. Hannah has valued experience in family and fertility law, as well as a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice which she obtained while working and raising her young son. Outside of work, Hannah enjoys spending time at the beach with family and friends, or taking to the air on aerial silks.
Narelle Walters joined KLM Solicitors in early 2022. Narelle holds a Bachelor of Laws and Health Science from the Queensland University of Technology and is passionate about child protection issues. As a mother of five, Narelle is confident she can make a positive impact in the community by helping to keep children safe and families strong. She is driven to deliver fair and just outcomes for clients and does so utilising her exceptional organisational skills and strong work ethic.
Shaun relocated from Far North Queensland to our Brisbane CBD office, bringing with him experience in criminal and civil litigation firms, including a mid-tier commercial firm. Shaun was also the general counsel for an independent school in Queensland for 3 years. He is a member of the Communication and Media Law Association, the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland, the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association, the Far North Queensland Law Association and the Queensland Law Society. Shaun has experience at all court levels and joined KLM Solicitors to experience high-stakes criminal law and practice at an elite level. He looks forward to the opportunity to provide advocacy and positive outcomes for clients.
With over 20 years of experience in accounts and administration, Tanya brings a can-do attitude to the KLM team. Based primarily at KLM Solicitors’ Maroochydore office, she is a diligent and dedicated problem solver with the ability to adapt and change in a fast-paced working environment. Tanya is motivated to make a difference each working day by keeping clients happy and finds her job immensely rewarding when resolving issues. She believes the family environment sets KLM Solicitors apart from other legal firms.
